Committee of the Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

In order to promote the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault, elevate the quality of prevention services and to maintain the basic human rights for citizens, Taipei City Government established the Committee of the Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault since July, 1998. There are 17 members, consisting of the chair, who is the Taipei City Deputy Mayor, four representatives from the Police Department, Educational Department, Health Department and Social Welfare Department, five scholars and experts and seven representatives of private organizations. Meetings are held once every four months. The Committee’s missions are as follows:
(1)Consultation, research, evaluation and promotion for domestic violence and sexual assault prevention policy.
(2)Coordination, integration, supervision and assessments for domestic violence and sexual assault prevention between different departments.
(3)Other promotions for domestic violence and sexual assault prevention.
