Domestic violence is violent behavior with gradual and repeated CharaCteristics. Early
identification Of an escalation in violence can prevent deadly incidents from taking place.
Domestic violence refers to the physical, mental, or economic harassment,control,coercion, or other unlawful harm caused by family members.
This service is aimed at family members and their children (aged under 18) as defined in Article 3 of the Domestic
Violence Prevention Act. This includes:
1.A spouse or former spouse
2.Persons with an existing or former cohabitation relationship, a relationship between a parent and household members, or a relationship between household members
3.Persons with an existing or former relationship between lineal relatives by blood or lineal relatives by marriage
4.Persons with an existing or former relationship between collateral relatives by blood or collateral relatives by marriage within four degrees of kinship.
When a victim aged 16 or above suffers unlawful physical or mental abuse by a partner who they have not cohabited with but are deemed to have had a close social relationship
with (based on their emotional or sexual behavior),stipulations in the Domestic Violence Prevention Act related to Civil Protection Orders may be used to request a protection order from the court.
